Welcome to Hampton Hills

In 1990, a group of residents formed the Hampton Hills Neighborhood Association to safeguard the neighborhood's architectural integrity and to enhance the quality of life for every resident. The HHNA meets at 7:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month at Rosemont Christian Church to continue this important work, and we value the participation of every resident.

Born in the 1920s, Hampton Hills has one of the most undisturbed stands of original architecture in the city of Dallas. Here, you'll see streets lined with outstanding examples of Craftsman bungalows, Tudor homes and pre- and post-war cottages.

Because of its easy access to major thoroughfares, mass transit, downtown Dallas and Oak Cliff's thriving Bishop Arts District, Hampton Hills is the neighborhood of choice for a diverse group of residents who take pride in their homes and eagerly welcome newcomers.

Thanks for visiting us!

every house has a story

In early 1928, Laster Baskem Bruton, who came to Dallas shortly before to establish Hygienics Products Company’s southwest division, purchased his first home. He and his wife, Sarah Estella Stratton Bruton, met with the Hampton Hills developer, Alf W. Sanders, to ink the deal on a newly constructed Tudor-style cottage at 1510 Hollywood Ave. On [...]

our very own preservationist

You may not know it, but Hampton Hills has its very own preservationist: Phil Leven. As past president of the Old Oak Cliff Conservation League, Phil was instrumental in helping to mediate the settlement between the OOCCL and the Dallas Independent School District that forced the DISD to hold off on demolishing the historic Oak [...]

here come the streetcars!

storm debris cleanup could take weeks

City Manager Mary Suhm said this morning that she expects fallen tree limbs and other debris from last week’s snow storm could take another four or five weeks to clean up.

Brush can be put on the curb and will be picked up on normal garbage days. No need to call 311.

The city won’t issue any [...]

an important message from the hhna president

Cliff and I surveyed the storm damage to Hampton Hills and we can say with some confidence that it is extensive. We were astonished. It looks more like a tornado ripped through the neighborhood than a snow storm. Some of you have experienced damage to your homes as a result of falling branches. Some of you have [...]

limb damage & bulk trash

If you’ve experienced extensive damage to tree limbs and want to move them to the curb, call 311 and ask to be placed on a list for early pickup. This will help you avoid being cited for a code violation.

think spring

It may be cold outside, but now is the time to begin preparing to grow your own fruits and vegetables. When selecting a site for your gardens, keep these requirements in mind: All vegetables need at least six hours of direct sunlight each day. Eight to 10 hours each day is ideal. The soil should [...]
